How do you make a kilim carpet and kilim pillows?

Processing from fur to yarn for the kilim:

In the ancient shepherd life of the Anatols, the production of kilim carpets and kilim pillows is a major source of income. Such products are made from sheep's wool. The sheep wool comes in a process in which yarn is made.

It is the man's task to shear the sheep and bring the wool to the women. Then the women select the wool for quality. The wool around the neck is the softest and the wool around the tail is hard. It is washed, whipped and combed. Combing makes the curly hair more straight and suitable for purring. Finally, the wool is spun on the spinning top. Then it is ready to be painted.

Dyeing the natural way:

Today, many kilims are dyed synthetically. About a century ago, the traditional method of painting kilims has almost completely disappeared. This was because synthetic dyeing was cheaper and easier. In addition, it was possible to make all colors. However, many synthetic dyed kilim carpets and kilim pillows are colored in the typical colors of traditionally dyed kilims.
